The development of TABBA HEART INSTITUTE
started in the year 2002. The entire construction
and renovation work was completed in March
this year, when H.E. Mr. Shaukat Aziz the
Prime Minister of Pakistan inaugurated the
THI on 8th of March 2005. The founding Chairman
Late Mr. Abdul Razzak Tabba had worked tirelessly
for the last 4 years for the completion
of this state-of-the-art institute had invested
countless hours and days of his time to
ensure that THI ultimately becomes a CENTRE
OF EXCELLENCE.
From March until his untimely death on 19th
of May this year, he became extremely restless
and counseled the management of the THI
to start the Hospital at the earliest, but
also cautioned them that since it is a matter
of precious life of an individual, every
possible care may be exercised to have fool
proof equipments, systems and highly experienced
personnel at hand before admitting and treating
even one patient.
It is now my privilege to add that TABBA
HEART INSTITUTE equipped with the latest
Cardiac Care Equipment & Technology
has started functioning. This 120-bed cardiac
care hospital has been set up by AZIZ TABBA
FOUNDATION which is a non-profit organization.
The donors have committed to continue to
support this institute in future also INSHALLAH
and all the revenues will be re-deployed
for upgrading the fast changing technology
and research on heart diseases.
The hospital equipped with state-of-the-art
equipment and machinery includes facilities
for ECG, Echo, Nuclear Stress Test, Holter
Monitoring, Ultrasound, Angiography, Coronary
and Peripheral Angioplasty, Complex Coronary
Valve and Aortic Surgeries which will be
performed by highly qualified Interventional
Cardiologists and Cardiothoracic Surgeons.
Preventive and Rehabilitation Cardiac Services
will be one of the major focus at TABBA
HEART INSTITUTE.
In view of the noble objectives of my family,
we have kept our hospitalization, surgery
and other services charges to be as affordable
as possible.
It was in 1985 when my grand father Late
Abdul Aziz Hashim Tabba developed a heart
problem and my father was astonished to
observe that facilities for heart disease
treatment were almost non-existent in Pakistan.
He specially made arrangements for few doctors
visit from London to treat our grandfather.
From that time, it became a dream and passion
for our Late Founding Chairman to set up
a most modern cardiac care hospital, to
serve the humanity and seek ALMIGHTY ALLAH’s
choicest blessings.
I’m indeed fortunate to have this
towering personality to be my father and
mentor.
When the hospital was getting ready for
the first major surgery, our Founding Chairman
answered the call of ALMIGHTY for his journey
to the heaven. I’m indeed grateful
and indebted to ALMIGHTY ALLAH who has blessed
me, with this rare opportunity to take the
responsibility of carrying forward the mission
of our Late Chairman and ensure that TABBA
HEART INSTITUTE marches forward and continues
to play its role, in treating the poor or
privileged with commitment and dedication
and serve the humanity.
